After much deliberation, she decided to drop out of school and begin a career as entertainer. In the movie "Children of the Corn v Fields of Terror", she made her acting debut, and was disappointed by the outcome. To refine and show her acting talents She appeared in a variety of budget-friendly films. Her patience and her willpower proved fruitful. Her name was praised and she received positive reviews for her performance in the movie Training Day after which her acting career began to take off.
